WOW! I really loved making this large throw size (72" x 72") quilt. I have been wanting to use a bright blue like this as a background for so long, and when I stumbled upon these colors together, I knew it need to become a quilt.
I used Rachel of Wren Collective's Odyssey Quilt Pattern. All the fabrics in this quilt are 100% cotton from Kona Cotton by Robert Kaufman. The batting inside is 100% cotton from Hobbs Batting. I pieced together a two toned backing for the coolest color block effect and quilted these soft and simple wave designs. I finished it off with a cream bias binding for better durability and longevity.
I pray for the home that this quilt ends up in. I pray that they would be reminded of the joy of childhood and whimsy when they cuddle underneath it. I hope they feel loved and celebrated in their season of life. This quilt is such a statement piece and would bring such a fun pop of color in any room!
While I was quilting this beauty, I learned a lot about the waves of life, and about how God holds me close no matter the high or low of my circumstances. I chose in that moment to cling the Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith so that I would not be swayed. But tat I would remain steadfast in the knowledge that He knows my future and He holds all my days in His hands. And in the end, He is victorious over every storm that comes my way!
